The Moral Machine 🗗 is a platform for gathering a human perspective on moral decisions made by machine intelligence, such as self-driving cars. It was deployed on June 23rd 2016.

Since then, millions of users from 233 countries and territories contributed over 40 million decisions on the moral dilemmas faced by self-driving cars having to choose between victims in an unavoidable crash.

We observed significant differences in the way people made decisions in different countries. More specifically, in the importance they gave to nine factors, such as gender or age of the victims.

This tool will help you visually explore and compare the preferences of people in different countries.
